PTFE Tape is widely used for packaging, adhesive backings and pipes and fittings for plumbing and gas connections. Applications and uses for PTFE Tape also include any other industrial tasks that require sealing and insulating, such as working with construction materials or automotive components.
a thin tape used for plumbing pipes and joints. It comes in white, which is used for basic sealing applications, or yellow, which is recommended if you’re working with gas pipes. Teflon Adhesive Tape is appropriate if your business specializes in medical devices, construction equipment or shrink-wrapping and packaging processes. PTFE Tape is designed to coat the threads of plumbing components and create a tighter seal. If you use PTFE Tape on any plumbing repairs that involve threaded pipes you will have good workmanship. The whole purpose behind Teflon Tape is to make a better seal between plumbing parts. When applying the Tape, use plenty. PTFE Tape comes in a number of different widths. Though ½ inch tape is not the only tape used by professional plumbers, it is the most versatile. It is small enough for little repairs, but wide enough to repair longer tubes.
PTFE Tape is very versatile it can be used at temperatures ranging from -270C to 260C. PTFE has an fantastic chemical resistance and is unaffected by all known chemicals except alkali metals and under certain conditions, fluorine.
PTFE has excellent weather resistance and has an extremely wide working temperature range. It is the best of the solid dielectrics and an excellent insulator. It is worth noting that it cannot be used on drinking water pipes.
Our PTFE Glass Cloth Tape has a brown woven glass cloth backing impregnated with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene). This tape provides a slick surface on process machinery and offers an extremely low coefficient of friction which, in combination with a pressure sensitive silicone adhesive, creates a non-stick surface that performs at elevated temperatures.
